Dieting without starving.

It is important to eat regularly when you are losing weight. If you can control your tongue and not over indulge in high fat foods then your diet will seem like no trouble at all.

Make sure that you are eating plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables. Some diets recommend you to have three pieces of fruit per day, and three servings of vegetables per day - one of these to be salad. This is a great starting point for your diet.

Also drink plenty of water while dieting. We are advised to drink around 2 litres of water per day. When dieting you are burning up your body's fat stores. As the fat comes off some toxins are also released and drinking plenty of water helps to flush these away.

Staying positive.

For some people dieting can be very stressful and often disappointing. Help yourself by keeping a positive outlook. You are attempting to lose some weight. If you keep going you will lose that weight even though it may take longer than you hoped. Keep in mind, as your weight changes gradually, that not so long ago you were bigger and wanted to lose weight. You may not be your target weight yet but you are moving forward. Congratulate yourself and allow a treat once a week if you feel you're doing well.

Try just weighng yourself one or two times a week instead of everyday. Then you can track how your weight changes week by week. Its easier to see your progress this way.

Keeping perspective.

When you're following your diet try not to let yourself get obsessive about your weight. You have a life which is more about who you are than what you look like. When you are dieting do it for you, not for anyone else.

See if you can create a vision for yourself of where you want to get to with your diet. This can really help you in the bad moments. It can also help you in maintaining your weight once you have reached your target. To maintain your weight and not put it back on again should be a part of your aim in dieting.
